Abstract
29 cases of peirpheral arterial injuries and 11 cases of traumatic AN fistula which were treated at the Department of General Surgery Sectiotn in Capital Army Hospital during the peroid from 1965 to 1970 were reviewed.
The result were as follows:
1) The most common cause of peripheral arterial injuries was Gun-Shot wound (19), the most common cause of traumatic AN fistula was shrapnell wound (8 cases).
2) Of 40 vascular injuries, 16 cases were femoral artery which was the commonest in frequency, and the next was 9 cases of brachial artery.
3) Vascular reconstruction was carried out by means of end-to end anastomosis for 29, lateral repair for 7, autovenous graft for 2, dacron prosthetic graft for one vascugrl injury. Simple ligation .72 A was done for 4 vascular injuries because the primary reconstructive surgery was failed.
4) Of 39 vascular reconstruction, 29 cases were good, 4 cases revealed impaired blood circulation of the distal part, and, 6 cases were failed, amputated.
